The 5 day voting period has expired, and consensus against the policy change was not reached. We have one supporting vote, one neutral vote, and one discarded opposing vote. Neutral votes subtract roughly 50% from support votes, and add 50% to opposing votes. Apparently one neutral vote (50%) would subtract roughly (25%) from one support vote (100%), so we have roughly 75% support. The restriction of anonymous editing is here to stay, and will be made official. Thanks to all the people that voted.

This new policy request has been in my head for quite some time now, but it wasn't until today that I have decided to suggest that this policy proposal be taken into effect.

I've noticed that unlike on the Sims wiki, on C.Syde's Wiki, we don't really have very many users on here, and I was thinking in order to modernise, we should put this policy into effect.

My proposal is that we eliminate the process of having unregistered users contribute here. Meaning that users who are unregistered will no longer be able to edit on this wiki.

Currently here at C.Syde's Wiki, unregistered users are able to edit here, but the places where they are able to contribute are increasingly limited, and thus I don't think it will hurt to eliminate anonymous editing entirely.

So I've put this policy proposal forward, for users to vote on it, publicly via thread posting.

Should we disable anonymous editing here at C.Syde's Wiki?

To weigh in on this discussion and vote, just vote below.

    To vote for, just post:

{{VoteFor}}'''Support''' — <your reasons for supporting this policy change here>

To write a neutral opinion on this policy change, voting neither for or against, but just to give feedback on this policy change, just post:

{{Neutral}}'''Neutral''' — <your reasons for not supporting or opposing this policy change here>

    To vote against, just post:

{{VoteAgainst}}'''Oppose''' — <your reasons for opposing this policy change here>

Please do NOT quote this post, as it will clutter up the thread, and make it less effective.

Please do not vote if you are not registered. All unregistered votes will be discarded and deleted.

    Countdown:

Voting shall last for five days. Time remaining:

Oppose — I've been thinking long and hard about this, but I have finally decided to oppose my own proposal. Weird isn't it? The main reason I am opposing this is because I actually feel that without anons, we might not be able to expose the IP addresses of troublesome users which will weaken the barriers we've put up against them.

Support — I actually think that this is a good idea. Because anons can be a pain sometimes, but they can also be very helpful. I actually feel that we should do this. There aren't many anon contributors on this Wiki, and it's good to keep it like that.

Neutral — I might change my vote slightly, because even though I initially opposed this proposal, I'm not sure whether the downsides will be as significant as I had initially interpreted. At this time I'm uncertain whether or not I support this. Even with anons themselves can't edit, I'm sure I can find a way around any downsides that I may find, excluding the restriction of unregistered users, obviously. But since almost no unregistered contributors edit here anyway, I'm sure those downsides will be significant enough for me to stand by my initial vote on this.
