The Sims 2: Nightlife The Sims 2: Open for Business

You may have noticed that there are four pre-made Bluewater Village townies in The Sims 2: Open for Business that wear clothes that originate from previous expansion packs. Nor are they the clothes they were in their default thumbnails either.

  • Steffi Royce, despite being a teenage townie that comes with the Bluewater Village sub-neighbourhood, wears an outfit that originates from the Nightlife expansion pack.
  • Robin Larrea, despite being a townie that comes from Bluewater Village, wears a top that originates from the Nightlife expansion pack, although there is a young adult version of the top that originates from University.
  • Lila Roennigke, despite being a Bluewater Village townie, wears a top that originates from the Nightlife expansion pack.
  • Alan Cho, despite being another Bluewater Village townie, wears an outfit that originates from the Nightlife expansion pack, while a young adult version of the outfit originates from University.

The question is, why do they wear different clothes in their headshots than they wear in-game?

I've previously experienced issues on a laptop I sometimes use to test out stuff, where some clothing might not show up correctly.

So I'm guessing that the few Nightlife outfits that were reintroduced in Open for Business were not linked correctly when these four townies were generated, and their thumbnails were set.

The outfit Steffi wears in her default thumbnail is one of the base game outfits that commonly shows up on teenage female Sims instead of the outfit that's supposed to show up. This usually happens as a result of downloading mods but not downloading the meshes required for them to work.

Or in the case of when I last used this laptop, most of the Nightlife outfit meshes didn't show up correctly.

The top Robin and Lila wear in their default thumbnails is one of the base game tops that commonly shows up on adult female Sims instead of the tops that are supposed to show up.

The outfit Alan wears in his default thumbnail is one of the base game outfits that commonly shows up on adult male Sims instead of the top that is supposed to show up.

I've checked and the outfits Steffi, Robin, Lila, and Alan wear only seem to come with the Nightlife expansion pack. So the outfits the four townies wear are either the outfits they have in their original thumbnails, or else a random base game outfit.
