Note:
Most of these usergroups do not exist on actual Fandom sites. I just decided to create a list of 'possible' customised usergroups. For example, having additional usergroups with, say more tools than Rollbackers but fewer tools than Administrators, since there's a lot of things an administrator can do that a rollback can't, yet there weren't any such usergroups in between when I first created this page.

The following is a list of fictional usergroup concepts conceived or adopted by C.Syde, with their associated access rights.

Fictional Local User Groups

Deluxe Administrators

Main article: Deluxe Administrators

Deluxe Administrators are a fictional usergroup that serves as an extension of the Administrator usergroup. It reinstates the Administrator's abilities to bypass rate limits[1] and edit, move, delete, and undelete all system messages[2], as well as editing other users' CSS, JavaScript, and JavaScript Object Notation data[3][4]. However, it should be noted that editing other users' CSS, JavaScript, and JavaScript Object Notation data should be kept to a minimum and only for certain legitimate reasons, such as fixing broken links, and broken CSS, JavaScript, and JavaScript Object Notation data, and removing spam and hate messages (should they ever be found in other users' CSS, JavaScript, and JavaScript Object Notation pages). Most other uses are considered illegitimate, and are likely to be considered misuse of the abilities that Deluxe Administrators have been granted with, which may hint at why those abilities were revoked from Administrators in the first place.

The Deluxe Administrator usergroup also reinstates the Administrator's abilities to access Semantic MediaWiki administration tasks[5], edit the Smw allows pattern system message to maintain allowed regular expressions and patterns[6], and view deleted history entries of all revisions that are not suppressed[7]. Deluxe Administrators also have the ability to check users' IP addresses and other information[8], view the check user log[9], access the SocialLogs special page[10], show and hide the contents of specific revisions and log entries, the summaries of the revisions or log entries, the names of the users/IP addresses that made the edits or log entries, or any combination of those three[11][12], mass delete pages[13], quickly revert and delete spam and vandalism using quicktools[14], and edit gadget definitions, gadget CSS and JavaScript pages, interlanguage links[15], and widgets in the Widget namespace on wikis with the Widgets extension enabled[16].

Deluxe Administrators are also able to edit the wiki's FandomMobile.js[17], save themes with contrast errors[18], force an update of special pages[19], bypass all edit filters[20], block various site modifications[21], bypass site protection limits[22] and the wiki creation throttle[23], find pages on many wikis[24], and suppress and unsuppress article and blog comments[25], forum threads[26], and message walls[27]. Deluxe Administrators also have the ability to delete selective revisions of pages, which saves them the trouble of having to delete the pages and then undelete the desired revisions[28]. They are also able to review, approve, and reject sitewide JavaScript on local wikis without having to wait for it to be reviewed by a member of the content review team[29], bypass namespace restrictions[30] and content, device, email, summary, title, and wiki creation filters[31], delete tags applied to more than 5000 revisions and log entries[32], edit pages with bad titles[33], view blacklisted spam filter entries via the PhalanxStats special page[34], and delete many pages on a single wiki, or one page across many wikis where they have deletion rights[35].

On wikis with the Interwiki extension enabled, Deluxe Administrators are able to edit interwiki data[36]. On wikis with the MessageWall extension enabled, Deluxe Administrators are able to move pages to the Message Wall namespace[37] and suppress and unsuppress walls[38]. On wikis with the DeleteBatch extension enabled, Deluxe Administrators are able to batch delete pages[39] and batch delete pages as the Delete page script[40]. On wikis with the SpamBlacklist extension enabled, Deluxe Administrators are able to bypass the spam block list. On wikis with Semantic MediaWiki enabled, Deluxe Administrators can also access information about an entity associated revision mismatch, and edit schema pages, pages annotated with a positive truth value for special property 'Is edit protected', and rule pages, and add and remove Semantic MediaWiki Editor, Semantic MediaWiki Administrator, and Semantic MediaWiki Curator rights from their account. On wikis with the HydraCore extension enabled, Deluxe Administrators are able to upload fonts for use in the font manager.

On wikis with the CurseProfile extension enabled, Deluxe Administrators are able to moderate user profiles[41]. On wikis with the Widgets extension enabled, Deluxe Administrators are able to add and remove Widget Editor rights from their account. On wikis with the AbuseFilter extension enabled, Deluxe Administrators are able to modify edit filters with restricted actions[42], view private data in the edit filter log[43], and view the edit filter private details access log. On wikis with the DiscussionsAbuseFilter extension enabled, Deluxe Administrators are able to bypass all Discussions edit filters[44]. On wikis with the FlaggedRevs extension enabled, Deluxe Administrators are able to configure how the latest accepted revision of a page is selected and displayed[45], have their own revisions automatically marked as accepted[46], mark revisions as being accepted[47], move pages under pending changes[48], view the list of unreviewed pages[49], and add and remove Autochecked, Editor, and Reviewer rights.

On wikis with the Tilesheets extension enabled, Deluxe Administrators are able to translate tile names and descriptions. On wikis with the Staff-protection level added, Deluxe Administrators are able to add and remove Editor rights. On wikis with the Director-protection level added, Deluxe Administrators are able to add and remove Director rights. On wikis with the Watcher-protection level added, Deluxe Administrators are able to add and remove Watcher rights. On wikis with the Bureaucrat-protection level added, Deluxe Administrators are able to edit pages that have been protected so only Bureaucrats can edit them[50]. On wikis with the Global Administrator-protection level added, Deluxe Administrators are able to edit pages that have been protected so only Global Administrators can edit them.

On wikis that have restricted the ability to create and edit pages in the User blog and Blog namespaces, Deluxe Administrators are able to add and remove Blogger rights. On wikis with the Update namespace added, Deluxe Administrators are able to edit pages in the Update namespace[51]. Deluxe Administrators can only have their rights revoked by themselves, or Fandom Utilities, and they can only be promoted by Fandom Utilities. However, it can be optional for Bureaucrats to be able to revoke Deluxe Administrator rights. Having this status causes 'DELUXE ADMINISTRATOR' to appear next to the username on the user's userpage.

User Rights Security

User Rights Security is a fictional usergroup that has the ability to revoke bureaucrat rights from candidates that have been voted down by community consensus.

Generally this usergroup is unavailable on local communities, but on wikis where multiple issues involving bad bureaucrats that are refusing to step down freely have occurred, user rights security access can be considered.

User Rights Security can only have their rights revoked by themselves or Fandom Utilities, and they can only be promoted by Fandom Utilities.

Blockers

Blockers are a fictional usergroup that has the ability to block and unblock users. They also have the ability to bypass IP blocks, autoblocks and range blocks. Their main purpose is to help keep the wiki clear of disruptive users, more or less similar to the way Chat Moderators were able to kick and ban disruptive users from chat.

Blockers are able to block and unblock any user, but unlike Administrators and Bureaucrats, they cannot unblock themselves. The reason they can't unblock themselves is because Chat Moderators couldn't unban themselves if an Administrator banned them. And so I thought that if a Blocker is blocked, they shouldn't be able to unblock themselves if an Administrator blocked them legitimately.

Blockers can only have their rights revoked by themselves, Bureaucrats, Deluxe Administrators, or Fandom Utilities, and they can only be promoted by Bureaucrats, Deluxe Administrators, and Fandom Utilities.

Forum Moderators

Forum Moderators are a fictional usergroup that is based on previously existing custom usergroups of the same name on other wikis. As the usergroup name implies, they have additional tools to help them to moderate the forums. Forum Moderators have all the tools extended to Global Discussion Moderators on individual wikis, aside from the ability to create discussion posts, the ability to create message wall messages, the ability to check users' IP addresses and other information, the ability to access Special:SocialLogs, and the ability to view the checkuser log. Unlike Global Discussion Moderators however, Forum Moderators can disable comments on article pages and blog articles, as well as moderate Quick Answers.

Because they are able to access Announcements, they were subsequently given Administrators' dashboard access. On wikis with the MessageWall extension enabled, Forum Moderators are able to edit wall posts and remove wall threads[52]. On wikis with the DiscussionsAbuseFilter extension enabled, Forum Moderators have access to the same additional permissions that are extended to Administrators. Forum Moderators can only have their rights revoked by themselves, Administrators, Deluxe Administrators, or Fandom Utilities, and they can only be promoted by Administrators, Deluxe Administrators, and Fandom Utilities. Having this status causes 'FORUM MODERATOR' to appear next to the username on the user's userpage.

Patrollers

Patrollers are a fictional usergroup that is based on existing custom usergroups on other wikis, of the same name. As the usergroup name implies, they mark other users' edits as patrolled, and have their own edits automatically marked as patrolled. There are many versions of this custom usergroup, including on external sites outside Fandom. Some known Fandom version examples of the custom usergroup can be found here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.

From late January until April 2016 I was under the impression that such a usergroup may previously have existed on the Community Central Wiki. However, recent retraces of some of my sandbox archives of past usergroups information from 2014 and 2015, along with archives of the Special:ListGroupRights page on the Community Central Wiki confirm that this was not the case, and that my mind was playing tricks on me.

Patrollers can only have their rights revoked by themselves, Bureaucrats, Deluxe Administrators, or Fandom Utilities, and they can only be promoted by Bureaucrats, Deluxe Administrators, and Fandom Utilities. Having this status causes 'PATROLLER' to appear next to the username on the user's userpage.

Comment Controllers

Comment Controllers are a fictional usergroup that is based on the existing custom usergroups of the same name on the Animal Jam Classic and Thomas the Tank Engine Wikis. As the name of the usergroup implies, users belonging to that group have the ability to edit and delete article and blog comments. I actually had previously considered this custom usergroup for this wiki.

Comment Controllers can only have their rights revoked by themselves, Administrators, Bureaucrats, Deluxe Administrators, or Fandom Utilities, and they can only be promoted by Administrators, Bureaucrats, Deluxe Administrators, and Fandom Utilities. Having this status causes 'COMMENT CONTROL' to appear next to the username on the user's userpage.

Image Controllers

Image Controllers are a fictional usergroup that is based on the existing custom usergroups of the same name on the Animal Jam Classic and Thomas the Tank Engine Wikis. As the name of the usergroup implies, users belonging to that group have the ability to move files, delete pages, edit blog articles, and move pages without leaving redirects. I actually had previously considered this custom usergroup for this wiki.

Image Controllers can only have their rights revoked by themselves, Administrators, Bureaucrats, Deluxe Administrators, or Fandom Utilities, and they can only be promoted by Administrators, Bureaucrats, Deluxe Administrators, and Fandom Utilities. Having this status causes 'IMAGE CONTROL' to appear next to the username on the user's userpage.

Look Up Contributions

Look Up Contributions is a fictional usergroup that is based on the existing custom usergroup of the same name on the Community Central Wiki. As the name of the usergroup implies, users belonging to that group have the ability to view users' edits across all of Fandom with the LookupContribs extension. Look Up Contributions can only have their rights revoked by Fandom Utilities, and they can only be promoted by Fandom Utilities.

Look Up Users

Look Up Users are a fictional usergroup that is based on the existing custom usergroup of the same name on the Community Central Wiki. As the name of the usergroup implies, users belonging to that group have the ability to view users' preferences across all of Fandom with the LookupUser extension. Look Up Users can only have their rights revoked by Fandom Utilities, and they can only be promoted by Fandom Utilities.

Phalanxes

Phalanxes are a fictional usergroup that is based on the previously existing RegexBlock and SpamRegex usergroups on the Fandom wiki. As the name of the usergroup implies, users belonging to that group have the ability to manage global blocks and spam filters. Phalanxes can only have their rights revoked by Fandom Utilities, and they can only be promoted by Fandom Utilities.

Suppressors

Suppressors are a fictional usergroup that is based on the previously existing usergroup of the same name, as well as the previously existing Oversight usergroup. As the name of the usergroup implies, users belonging to that group have the ability to show and hide the contents of specific revisions and log entries, the summaries of the revisions or log entries, the names of the users/IP addresses that made the edits or log entries, or any combination of those three from any user.

On wikis with the MessageWall extension enabled, Suppressors are able to suppress and unsuppress walls[38]. On wikis with the AbuseFilter extension enabled, Suppressors are able to hide entries in the edit filter log and view hidden edit filter log entries. Suppressors can only have their rights revoked by Fandom Utilities, and they can only be promoted by Fandom Utilities.

Fictional Global User Groups

Wikis Directed At Children Reviewers

Wikis Directed At Children Reviewers are a fictional global usergroup that is based on the previously existing custom usergroup of the same name on the Community Central Wiki. As the name of the usergroup implies, users belonging to that group have the ability to access the WDAC review tool. WDAC Reviewers can only have their rights revoked by Fandom Utilities, and they can only be promoted by Fandom Utilities.

User Rollbackers

Main article: User Rollbackers

User Rollbackers are a fictional global usergroup. They are experienced and trusted vandal fighters that have the rollback permission across all of Fandom. They also have access to the userrollback extension which allows them to quickly revert all edits by specified users on all wikis[53]. Please note that while User Rollbackers have access to the rollback tool, they do not replace local rollbackers on wikis. They also do not pose as local rollbackers unless they are flagged as local rollbackers.

User Rollbackers are just users that can be trusted with tools to revert vandalism when they see it and there are no local administrators or rollbackers around. They can also come in handy when it comes to reverting vandalism on quiet or inactive wikis where there are no active administrators or rollbackers around, and there are no SOAP around to take bigger action against cross-wiki vandalism pronto.

While User Rollbackers can edit and delete pages in all namespaces, and delete article and blog comments, discussion posts, and message wall messages, they are not allowed to use any of these tools except in circumstances to help aid with quickly reverting all edits of specified users from all wikis. Aside from these circumstances, they are not allowed to delete pages or article and blog comments unless they have administrator or content moderator rights. And they are not allowed to delete article and blog comments, discussion posts, or message wall messages unless they have administrator or discussion moderator rights.

User Rollbackers are not allowed to delete or edit all system messages[2] or the wiki's FandomMobile.js[17], or create, edit, or delete widgets in the Widget namespace on wikis with the Widgets extension enabled[16] unless they have staff, wiki-representative, or wiki-specialist rights. They are not allowed to change protection settings or edit cascade-protected pages unless they have administrator, assistant, or content moderator rights. And they are not allowed to delete interactive maps or pages with large histories unless they have administrator rights.

User Rollbackers are not allowed to delete or edit CSS, JavaScript, or JavaScript Object Notation pages, or delete other users' CSS, JavaScript, and JavaScript Object Notation data[3][4] unless they have administrator rights. And they are not allowed to edit other users' CSS, JavaScript, and JavaScript Object Notation data unless they have staff rights. They are not allowed to edit blog articles or mark reverted edits as bot edits unless they have administrator or assistant rights. And they are not allowed to edit protected pages without cascading protection unless they have administrator, assistant, or content moderator rights.

User Rollbackers are not allowed to edit semi-protected pages unless they have administrator, assistant, content moderator, or autoconfirmed rights. They are not allowed to delete or edit gadget definitions and gadget CSS and JavaScript pages in general. They are not allowed to delete or edit whitelisted system messages unless they have administrator rights. They are not allowed to mass delete pages[13] or quickly revert and delete spam and vandalism using quicktools[14] unless they have staff, wiki-representative, wiki-specialist, or soap rights. And they are not allowed to revert edits unless they have administrator, assistant, content moderator, or rollback rights.

On wikis with the MessageWall extension enabled, User Rollbackers are able to edit wall posts and remove wall threads[52]. On wikis with the SpamBlacklist extension enabled, User Rollbackers are able to bypass the spam block list. On wikis with Semantic MediaWiki enabled, User Rollbackers can also edit schema pages, pages annotated with a positive truth value for special property 'Is edit protected', and rule pages. On wikis with the AbuseFilter extension enabled, User Rollbackers are able to view detailed edit filter log entries[54], edit filters marked as private[55], private data in the edit filter log[43], and the edit filter private details access log. On wikis with the DiscussionsAbuseFilter extension enabled, User Rollbackers are able to bypass all Discussions edit filters[44].

On wikis with the FlaggedRevs extension enabled, User Rollbackers are able to have their own revisions automatically marked as accepted[46]. On wikis with the Staff-protection level added, User Rollbackers are able to edit pages that have been protected so only Administrators and Editors can edit them[56]. On wikis with the Director-protection level added, User Rollbackers are able to edit pages that have been protected so only Directors can edit them[57]. On wikis with the Bureaucrat-protection level added, User Rollbackers are able to edit pages that have been protected so only Bureaucrats can edit them[50].

On wikis with the Global Administrator-protection level added, User Rollbackers are able to edit pages that have been protected so only Global Administrators can edit them. On wikis that have restricted the ability to create and edit pages in the User blog and Blog namespaces, User Rollbackers are able to create and edit pages in the User blog and Blog namespaces[58]. On wikis with the Update namespace added, User Rollbackers are able to edit pages in the Update namespace[51]. They can only have their rights revoked by Fandom Utilities, and they can only be promoted by Fandom Utilities. Having this status causes 'USER ROLLBACK' to appear next to the username on the user's userpage.

Notes

  • While it isn't explicitly shown on the list of fictional usergroup rights, there are a couple of other unique abilities among certain fictional usergroups.
  • This page was created in December 2014, before I first discovered the new usergroup Assistant which had been added to the Encyclopaedia SpongeBobia in February 2015, and requested that the usergroup was added on this wiki in April 2015. I am very happy to have it as a usergroup on this wiki, and that it fulfils my want to have a usergroup in between Administrators and Rollbackers.
